FAQ
What type of church is this?
Gloria Dei is a member of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) Click here to find out more about the ELCA.
What are worship services like?
One step away from a traditional liturgical service, we attempt to incorporate unique components in worship. Also, to make it easy to follow along, the liturgy is printed in the bulletin. Services usually last one hour.
What should I wear?
You will see members of our congregation wearing anything from business suits to jeans to shorts in the summer. You can wear whatever you are comfortable with.
Can I take communion?
All baptized Christians are welcome to take Holy Communion at Gloria Dei. Communion is given in the front of the church, and wine or grape juice is available, as well as regular or gluten-free wafers. Children who do not receive communion are encouraged to accompany their parents and receive a prayer of blessing. Disabled visitors can receive communion at their seat. Communion occurs every Sunday.
What should I expect?
Visitors to Gloria Dei will be welcomed, but will not be singled out. Visitors are also not expected to give during the offering.
What time are services?
From Labor Day through Memorial Day, services are at 8:00 am and 10:30 am on Sunday morning. In the summer, there is one service at 9:00 am.
